Can you believe it, guys?? I'm already 9 months old! It feels like just yesterday I was swooshing around inside my momma's belly practicing my kickboxing with her floating ribs. Those were the days...
These days are pretty fun too though... not as much kick boxing unfortunately although you'd think I was a great fighter from all of the goose eggs on my head from falling over. I kind of keep forgetting that I can't walk. Anway... since my mom doesn't do an awesome job at journaling about my life I thought I would do her a favor and document some of the fun day-to-day adventures that we've been having.
Ah-hem.
Today was especially adventurous... and not because I blew out my diaper, that's for babies... because I had my 9-month check up with Dr. Hahn! The nurse said he was very excited to see how I've grown. Obviously after hearing that I just had to put on a show and do all of my tricks. You know... crawling, jabbering, pulling myself up onto stuff, jumping, trying to eat his doctor tools... he was so impressed. I betcha I'm his favorite of his favorites. Hmmm, yeah probably. No... definitely.
Oh heavens I am getting ahead of myself... I completely skipped like 3 hours of my day!
Okay let's start from the beginning...
5:30am-- This is when I wake up from the grumblies in my tummy. It usually takes a while for my mom to come feed me so I kind of just stand there and call for her until she shows up. You see she put a fan in her and daddy's room because it's starting to get hot so she can't hear me as well... I wonder if she did that on purpose... anyway, after a little snack I go back to bed. Unless I find out dad is up getting ready for work... then I get really excited and squawk all morning until he comes and plays with me. We have fun. Mom puts in ear plugs.
7:00am-- Now I'm really ready to get up for the day... that is if I didn't find out about dad being up, of course. Mom feeds me a hearty breakfast of oatmeal and an entire banana and usually I go straight to work! Today though, as I mentioned, was special and I got to run some errands with the boss. That's what I call mom in my head, boss or ma'am or even momma if I'm feeling extra nice and want a graham cracker. Oh bless the soul who invented graham crackers!
9:00am-- This is me pre-errands. Mom put me down for my morning nap and thought it would be funny to snap some pictures of my goofy sleeping position. She says I get it from my dad...
(Katelyn here... he most definitely does get it from his dad. Todd is a pretty goofy sleeper. I can't even effectively describe how goofy of a sleeper he is sometimes. Just trust me, it's goof-to-the-ee.)
10:15am-- And here we are... I woke up pretty happy from my first nap though I am starting to get sick of this whole car seat thing. I wonder how loud I need to screech and how arched my back needs to be for my mom to understand that I don't want to be buckled in. Or maybe she'll just forget again like that one time... don't tell anyone, I had a lot of fun!
10:30am-- I forgot to have my mom take a picture of me at my appointment... I wasn't wearing clothes anyway so it's probably a good thing. I'm a little self conscious about my knee rolls and elbow dimples... guh, I just can't kick the banana habit, they're so good!! The good news it I weigh 20 lbs and I am 28 1/3 inches long! My head is big too but the hair probably altered that measurement by a few feet.
11:30am-- Here I am at Aldi, all 20 lbs of me. Aldi is the best grocery store around! Mostly because they sell food to my mom... and when they sell food to my mom she uses it to feed me.
1:00pm-- For example... she feeds me at lunch time! I love lunch time!! This is me rocking out with my "whole wheat and vegetables." I probably eat as much food as my mom does in a day. Nom nom nom.
What? Is... there something on my face??
Bahha! Just kidding, of course there is... I was kinda going for a Nacho stache today. How'd I do?? You love it? Is it... the best??
I should also mention that I have a part time job from roughly 7-9am, 10:30am-12pm, 1-3pm, and 4-7pm. To keep things simple and in terms you'll understand I'll put it like this... see that bottom book shelf? It's my duty to keep it clear of any toys, books, baskets, binkies, bugs, dust bunnies, or anything of the sort at all costs. If anything, and I mean anything, comes as close as a mile to that bottom shelf I could get fired. It's a pretty good paying job for how hard it is... and the benefits are nice. Two cheerios per hour and the boss houses/feeds me. No complaints here.
This is me trying to dispose of the brown bin that keeps trying to get me a pink slip.
It's a little wobbly though so I sorta got tricked into using it to stand up.
Gah!
Bin!!!!! (in Kahn voice) I'll get you next time... you can count. on. that!
5:30pm-- After a rough day at work (and a delicious dinner fully equipped with applesauce and rice cereal) we like go on a walk to the park, especially if dad is on a trip. It rained on and off this morning so everything was still a little wet... but the sun was out! Horah!
Check out my sweet triceratops ride... you like that pose I hit right there? Yeah some ladies were walking their dogs so I was kind of trying to ya know... well you know... keep it cool.
Then mom put me at the top of the baby slide. Well I'll tell you what, that thing is not for babies!
Wait, I have to do what? No way, man.
As you can tell, I prefer the park bench. Oh yeah, this is when I filled my diaper beyond capacity too. Sorry mom! When you gotta go, you gotta go!
6:15pm-- Mom brought me home, cleaned me up, and put me in my sweet roller blade pjs. Here I am practicing a nightly ritual where I knock on the window at passers by and then duck down on my bum when they look up to see who is knocking at them. It's hilarious, I've never been caught either!
Oh yeah... I'm a little ashamed about this one. You know how I like to eat?? Well the boss decided to make a shredded pork salad for dinner and I kind of wanted some. So I begged a little, so what? She didn't give me any anyway but I'm cracking her, slowing but surely. She started sharing her yogurt with me at breakfast so we're getting there. Before you know it I'll be eating ALL of her food!! Wahh hahaha!
6:45pm-- Oh story time, I don't totally understand what you're all about. Mom opens up these "book" things and points at stuff and makes goofy noises then puts me to bed. Not totally sure why the books are a bedtime pre-rec but oh well... I get some extra cuddles in so it's worth it.
And there you have it... that's more or less what my days are like. Wake-up, diaper change, play, eat, play, eat, sleep, repeat.
This is the life!
-Peter
Mom, seriously, get that camera out of my face.
