the next era of p-town.

So... sometimes you just get into a blogging slump, yaknowwhatimean?? Ya, sorry about that. Even now I'm like hmmm, what to say...

Well we've had quite a few lovely adventures the last little while. We've been in Provo for about three months now and let me tell you... Provo is a different place than it used to be. Partly because I'm experiencing it as a mother and not a student. Partly because this place really has bloomed since we moved away two and a half years ago. Heck, we've got food trucks now! Talk about hip! Now that we are indeed back in p-town it's time for a new adventure list. A list like unto previous years except this time we have a two year-old in tow, making everything much more "exciting." (:
  1. food truck round up
  2. hike the Y
  3. splash pad and hawaiian ice
  4. pebbles in my pockets
  5. consume some awesome bevvies at swig, pop'n'sweets, and sodalicious
  6. introduce Moo to the best Provo eateries
  7. visit some animal friends at the bean museum
  8. dine at Waffle Love
  9. Van Gogh to Play Dough: Art for Toddlers with Lisi!
  10. Jaker's Pumpkin patch
  11. Rooftop Concert Series... missed it this year.
  12. camp in southern Utah... arches perhaps?
  13. letterboxing!
    • Emmett's and Ethel's
    • Timpanogos Cave
    • American Fork Amphitheatre
    • Flour Girls and Dough Boys
    • Scout Falls on Timpooneke Trail
    • Lehi Sugar Factory
    • Central Utah Gardens
    • Scera Shell
That'll do for now... we are poor college students after all. (: That being said, any cheap adventure recommendations?

what we Halls want to do in 2013...

So turns out I am a horrible blogger... and I probably start every post this way, but it's true. Todd is great at posting regularly and everything he writes about is always fun and intellectual. Pretty much my brain needs some serious exercising so I'm going to really try harder to write more and attempt to conjure some smart sounding material. (: I found that as I kept up with my fun to-do list that I wrote and posted more... so I'm going to make a new one (because Wisconsin is a new and happening place) and see what comes of it.

  1. donate my hair.
  2. Visit the zoo... it's free!
  3. Go to the driving range.
  4. Visit the temple every month (Chicago x8, St. Paul x1, Nauvoo x1, Boston x1, Twin Falls x1).
  5. Take a trip to see Rachel and Pedro in Minneapolis.
  6. Write thank you notes to 5 people that have inspired me.
  7. Go to a Giants v. Brewers game--brat.
  8. Go to a Giants v. Cubs game--Chicago dog.
  9. Go to a Giants v. Cardinals game and try not to get beat up.
  10. Make a quilt w/ Lisa when she comes this summer.
  11. Collect my 100 favorite quotes. (this one may take years)
  12. Donate blood every 8 weeks.
  13. Eat a tostada to calm my nerves. (carne asada)

  14. Start up a food storage.
  15. Can/freeze something (fruit, jam, salsa, jalapenos, etc.)
  16. be cool like my old bosses and have a Chobani for lunch.
  17. keep up with Posting for Health.
  18. Stroll through the Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
  19. Attend the library's 8th Annual Death By Chocolate bake off.
  20. Go on a family vacation. (Lewes, Deleware? York/Ogunquit, Maine?)
  21. Check out Door County.
  22. find out what the heck is up with Spring Garden... and sit outside whilst doing it.
  23. Get something tasty at Schubert's... it's 100+ years old!
  24. Have a romantic date at Sole Sapori.
  25. Enjoy a hot cup of cocoa at Sjolinds Chocolate House on a really cold day.
  26. Dine at Hackney's... if Guy liked it, so can we!
  27. Take on one of the alto arias from the Messiah.
  28. Become a P90X grad.
  29. introduce the child to camping.

I'm not dead yet...

It's been quite some time since I last posted... Tuesday's just haven't been the same, have they? Well fear not, I'm back and ready for action. Spring term gets out in one week!! and I cannot wait to finally start enjoying my summer w/o school constantly on my shoulder. I did start a silly sitcom blog over winter semester while I was gone from all you dedicated readers [baha] but I'll for sure be posting on this guy much more.

Buckle your seat-belts kids, I'm about to have a beautiful summer.

beef on blogging.

Remind me again why I chose to join the cyber world of blogging? Is it because everyone else has a blog and I should “probably just have one”? Is it cause I feel the need to write in my journal regularly along with post my thoughts online so others can crack the code and get into my mind anyways? (no it doesn’t take a voice-activated password to electronically open my journal… it takes two hands. not even two, you could simply shove it off a table with nubs and let it fall open.) Or could I possibly be going through an identity crisis and blogging is a way to “express” myself and gain the confidence that I lost all those years of being a fat kid? (see AJ DeCato to join the official fatkid website) Either way this endeavor of mine is out of the bag and with this first real entry my blogging experience will begin. What is blogging anyways? I guess I sorta already addressed that so I suppose the question is more, “How do I blog?” So far I have found it stressful… does anyone else find keeping a blog updated just another thing to put on the to-do list? ‘Cause it got on my list weeks ago and I hadn’t even started one yet… how’d that happen? So besides the fact that blogging is now proved stressful I still have gone ahead and here I am. What not to write about? First off I can’t really vent about people that bother me on occasion… because those people are usually my close friends [haha], nor can I spill secrets because I’m not an 18A sk*nk that blocks everyone and their dog. (This is where I awkwardly try to redeem myself for rippin' on 18A's DLS.) Other things I am denied rights to blogging about because of its public matter- men of interest... what? am I supposed to shave five years off my age and start using code names again? actually shaving might be the wrong word since five years ago I was in 8th grade w/ snarly teeth and at the steady peak of my babyfat days. Other topics not to blog about... things I wouldn’t want my mom to read… those won’t go on my blog. Anything else I shouldn't mention? Any unspoken rules that I'll encounter in the future quite embarrassingly anyways? Rather, what to write about- ridiculous foods I occasionally find myself eating for breakfast, mishaps with strangers that I would prefer not repeat, or simply the distrust I have for kitchen appliances. Take your pick... all three will be coming soon.
